Why does my floating license return the error "License server cannot be run on the same computer as this application" (or code -3) when I try to check out a license?
Possible Solutions:

The computer selected to run the license server can not also run the client application (i.e. the Eigenvector product being licensed - PLS_Toolbox, Solo, etc). If you attempt to run the license server on the same computer as the client application, you will receive an error message saying this is an invalid setup OR (depending on version) the error code "-3". To resolve this problem, you must move the license server or the client application to a different computer.
The computer you select to run the license server must:
1. Be reachable by network
2. Have a static (fixed) IP address
3. Not be a computer on which you want to run the client application

Please be aware that you are not permitted to run multiple copies of your license server. There may only be one license server running for all seats of a given license of the software.
